Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 31, 2026

1. Our Core Privacy Commitment

Privacy is not an afterthought — it is a core principle of every SuperchargeBrowser extension. We believe your browsing data belongs to you. All our extensions are engineered to operate entirely on your device.

We do not collect, store, sell, or share your browsing history, search queries, tab data, or website content.

2. Data We Collect (and Why)

We limit data collection to the absolute minimum required to operate our website and services.

A. Extensions: Your Browsing Data (None)

Our extensions do not transmit your browsing history, open tabs, page content, or any browsing activity to any external server — except when you explicitly choose to share a workspace (see Section 2G). All extension logic — including content blocking, tab management, and interface features — runs locally on your machine.

B. Extension Settings

Your preferences and extension data (such as feature toggles, saved workspaces, or whitelisted domains) are stored locally in your browser's storage (chrome.storage.local). They are never synced to our servers, except when you explicitly choose to share a workspace (see Section 2G).

C. Website: Communication

  • What: When you visit our website and provide your email address, we collect it.
  • Why: To notify you about product launches, updates, and offers.
  • Storage: This data is stored securely with our email service provider. You may unsubscribe at any time.

D. External Links

Links within our extensions and website may include URL parameters (UTM tags) to identify the referral source. These parameters are standard web analytics identifiers — they do not contain personal data and are not collected or stored by the extension.

E. Website: Feedback & Surveys

  • What: When you voluntarily submit feedback through forms on our website (such as uninstall surveys), we collect the responses you provide. We also record your browser name, version, and operating system from standard HTTP request headers to help us diagnose technical issues.
  • Why: To understand how people use our extensions and improve them.
  • Storage: Responses are stored on Cloudflare infrastructure. No personal information is required — all submissions are anonymous by default. If you optionally provide an email address, it is stored alongside your response solely so we can follow up.
  • Retention: Feedback data is retained for product improvement purposes. You may request deletion by contacting us.

F. PRO Accounts (Future Feature)

  • What: If you choose to upgrade to a PRO plan in the future, we will process account identifiers (such as an email or license key) to verify your subscription.
  • Why: Strictly to unlock PRO features.
  • Storage: Payments and subscriptions are handled by our third-party Merchant of Record. We do not store credit card details.

G. Workspace Sharing (Optional, User-Initiated)

When you explicitly choose to share a workspace via a shareable link: the URLs and titles of tabs in that workspace are sent to our server to generate the shareable page. This data is stored on Cloudflare infrastructure and is accessible to anyone with the link.

  • What: Workspace name, tab URLs, tab titles, tab group structure (names and colors), and your IP address (used for rate limiting and share management).
  • Why: To generate a shareable web page that recipients can view without installing the extension.
  • Storage: Stored on Cloudflare D1 (SQLite) and accessible via a unique link.
  • Expiry: Shared workspaces automatically expire after 30 days. Re-sharing refreshes the expiry.
  • Control: You can revoke a shared link at any time, which makes the data inaccessible. Revoked data is permanently deleted within 7 days. No workspace data is ever shared without your explicit action.
  • Usage: We do not access, analyze, or use the content of shared workspaces for any purpose other than rendering the shared page. Anonymous view and import counts are tracked for aggregate analytics only.

3. Chrome Permissions Explained

Our extensions request only the permissions necessary for their features. Not every extension uses every permission listed below. Each permission is used locally — none are used to collect or transmit personal data.

  • host_permissions (<all_urls>): Allows our extensions to run their features across all websites you visit, including injecting content scripts for performance optimization, tab navigation overlays, and inline page previews. All processing happens locally. We do not read, store, or transmit page content.
  • tabs: Used to manage your browser tabs — detecting active and inactive tabs, switching between tabs, and providing tab search functionality. Tab metadata is processed locally and never logged or transmitted.
  • tabGroups: Used to organize tabs into groups, manage group colors and names, and support workspace features. All group data stays in your browser.
  • sidePanel: Used to display an in-browser panel for tab management and navigation. The panel runs locally with no external communication.
  • storage / unlimitedStorage: Used to save your preferences, workspaces, and extension state locally on your device. No data is sent to the cloud.
  • declarativeNetRequest: Used to apply content-blocking rules and to modify network request headers when needed for features like inline page previews. This is a privacy-preserving method — the browser applies the rules directly without the extension reading your network traffic.
  • scripting / activeTab: Used to inject lightweight content scripts that power features like content blocking, page overlays, mouse gestures, and visual indicators. These scripts run locally on the page and do not report data back to us.
  • alarms: Used to manage internal timers for scheduled tasks such as tab suspension timeouts and periodic data snapshots. Timers run locally.

4. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party providers to operate our business — not the extensions' logic.

  • Payment Processing: A specialized Merchant of Record handles all payments, tax compliance, and billing.
  • Email Services: Industry-standard email providers manage our mailing list.
  • Website Analytics: We use privacy-focused, cookie-free analytics on our website to understand traffic trends and page interactions (such as scroll depth and navigation patterns). No personal data is collected. All analytics data is anonymous and aggregated.

5. Data Retention

  • Browsing Data: We do not collect it, so there is nothing to retain.
  • Email Data: We retain your email until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
  • Subscription Data: License status is retained for the duration of an active subscription.

6. Children's Privacy

SuperchargeBrowser extensions are not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our products or legal requirements. Significant changes will be communicated via our extensions or website.

8. Terms of Service: Workspace Sharing

When you share a workspace, you are responsible for the content of the URLs included and for controlling who you share the link with. Shared workspace links are accessible to anyone who has the URL. SuperchargeBrowser is not responsible for unauthorized access to shared workspaces resulting from link distribution.

You may not share workspaces containing links to: illegal content, malware, phishing sites, or content that violates applicable law. We reserve the right to remove shared workspaces and terminate access for violations without notice.

Shared workspaces expire after 30 days. You may revoke a shared link at any time, which permanently deletes the workspace data from our servers.
